Kathryn Shirly Loop McElvain, 1921-1970

Mrs. McElvain, Seymour, Dies
  Seymour -- Mrs. Kathryn McElvain, 49, was taken by death Wednesday, November 18, 1970 at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
  Her husband Harold McElvain survives her passing and five children, Mrs. James (Virginia) Berner of Waukee, Ia, Kenneth of Overland Park, Kans., and Marvin, David and Karen all at home. Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Bitha Loop of Seymour and three grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the Seymour Methodist church with Rev. Lowell Drake officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery at Seymour.
  A memorial for the cancer fund has been established by the family.
  Since a son, Marvin McElvain is a member of the Seymour senior play cast, the stage production has been postponed from Friday night until the following Monday evening, November 23.

  Kathryn Shirly Loop was born 24 January 1921 in Seymour, Walnut Township, Wayne County, Iowa, daughter of Edward Franklin Loop and Bertha Lona Masters, and died 18 November 1970 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. She married Harold Kenneth McElvain who was born 20 April 1919 and died 3 May 1998. They were buried in Southlawn Cemetery, Seymour, Wayne County, Iowa.
