Angelo F. Micetich, 1912-2008

 Angelo F. Micetich, age 95 of Cincinnati, Iowa died May 20, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa.

  He was born on September 4, 1912, the son of Phillip and Jacquelin (Polich) Micetich in Numa, Iowa. He received his education in the Numa School and attended Trade School in Centerville, Iowa. At the age of 16, he began working in the Coal Mines and at a much later date moved to the Glencoe, Illinois area where he found employment by doing landscaping. He also worked at Brauns Oil Co. as a mechanic and welder for several years. 
  In 1939 Angelo married Mary Kauzlarich at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa. They made their home in Moline, Illinois, where he worked at the Bettendorf Aluminum Co. and The Rock Island Arsenal. Angelo joined the Navy in 1942 and was stationed at the Great Lake Naval Station. He was later transferred to Norfolk, Virginia and then to Naval Ship at Philadelphia, PA. 
  Angelo was always dreaming of being a farmer. In 1944 he purchased his first farm and he and Mary have lived there for the past 54 years. He enjoyed hunting, doing wood-working and visiting with family and friends. 
  He is survived by his wife Mary, one sister Matilda Vruble, a sister-in-law Lenora Burnett, a maternal nephew James Burnett, and a niece Mary Kay Vinton. Paternal nieces and nephews Tom Micetich, Phyliss Tracy, Margery Stickler, Marcella Doggett, Delores Smith, Margaret Engwall, Eddie Micetich, Butch Micetich, Stanley Vruble, Ron Vruble, Ben Vruble, Marlene Snyder, Ken Vruble, Jacquelin Vershoris, Shirley Vruble, James, Betty and Bob Vruble and Barbara Vruble. 
  Angelo was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Phillip, Charles, Mary Azzolin, Anna Vruble, Victoria Micetich, nephew Carl Micetich, great nephew Mike Micetich and a niece Florene Davis. 
  Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10 AM, Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Joe Nassal C.PP.S. officiating. A visitation will be held Friday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home from 9 AM- 4PM, with the family present from 6-8 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church that evening. A Scripture Service will be held Friday evening at 7 PM at St. Mary’s. A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association or the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544.
