Hiram Allard passed away quite suddenly Saturday night at the home of his son, Charles Allard, where he had made his home for a sort time.

He came to Iowa in 1867 and has been a resident of Decatur County ever since. For the past twenty-five years he has lived in Leon. In 1872, he was married to Miss Harriett Maranda Phelps. Eight children were born of this union, namely, four boys and four girls, all of whom survive their father.
